I have been thinking about this for awhile and wanted to share my thoughts. With all that is going on in the world, human trafficking, war, starvation, tsunamis, genocide, earthquakes, and so much more, why am I out here promoting fitness and health. It can seem sort of like a surface-type of topic, right? The thing is, if you are not taking steps every day to be healthy, be active, then how can you stand up against the evils of the world? How can you strive even in the face of danger or turmoil? How can you truly be your best?! Life can be challenging, and if we aren't taking care of ourselves, it is even that much more challenging to deal with life's struggles. And taking care of ourselves is so much more than drinking a green smoothie for breakfast and walking on the treadmill, although those things are wonderful! Taking care of ourselves implies really looking within and inspecting our minds, body, and souls and what is going on there and then taking steps to align our entire life with our true vision/purpose. Another reason I feel so passionately about promoting health and fitness is because obesity is a serious condition that is affecting our population at a rapid rate and I feel like it is everyone's issue, not just those directly affected by it. The best way to prevent obesity is to not become obese to begin with and the way our lifestyles are becoming, this becomes even more challenging for many of us. Also, I know firsthand how exercise and being mindful can transform your life. The endorphins that are released from exercising can help combat depression, laziness, stress, and frustration. If you are already living a healthy lifestyle, kudos! Please share what works for you! It may really inspire someone. And if you aren't currently taking care of yourself the best you could, today is a perfect day to start. One step at a time. It's a process, as is life, and truly honoring yourself pays off!
